Seva Electronic Dip (EDIP) Lucky Dip Process at Tirumala
TTD allots the most in-demand early-morning Arjitha sevas through an Electronic Dip, a free computerised random draw, rather than first-come booking. This guide explains which sevas are covered, when the dip opens and how to pay if you are selected.

What the lucky dip is
Some Tirumala sevas are so popular that TTD does not sell them on a first-come basis. Instead, devotees register for an Electronic Dip (EDIP), a free computerised random draw. Winners then pay and receive the ticket.
The dip covers Suprabhatam, Thomala, Archana and Ashtadala Pada Padmaradhana. Kalyanotsavam, Unjal, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara are not in the EDIP. Angapradakshinam is released as separate tokens, not through the EDIP, according to release schedules.
Cost and rules
Registration is free. Payment is due only if you are selected, at the price shown on the portal. Older Tirumala lists show Suprabhatam and Thomala at around Rs 120, so verify current rates.
One application per devotee is allowed, through an Aadhaar-based login. Blogs say that attending a seva blocks the same Aadhaar from the dip for six months, but this is not officially confirmed. Blogs also say TTD never allots dip tickets through agents or recommendation.
Monthly cycle
Registration opens around the 18th or 19th at 10 AM and closes around the 20th or 21st at 10 AM. Results and payment run from then until 12 noon on the 22nd or 23rd. The seva month is about three months ahead.
Examples: for July 2026 sevas, registration ran from 18 to 20 April with payment on 20 to 22 April until noon. For December 2026 sevas it opened on 19 September, closed on 21 September at 10 AM, and payment ran until 23 September noon. For January 2027 sevas it opened on 19 October and closed on 21 October, with payment from 21 to 23 October until noon. November 2026 sevas opened on 18 August.
Your chances
TTD publishes no selection ratio. One blog says about 7 in 100 applicants were selected for a peak January 2026 draw. Weekdays and less popular sevas reportedly give better chances, according to the same type of blog.
The offline dip at Tirumala
Blogs describe an in-person dip at Tirumala for the next day's seva. You enrol at the CRO, roughly 11 AM to 5 PM, and the draw is about 6 PM. Biometrics and a mobile number are taken, and you need the original Aadhaar (passport for NRIs). Winners pay and collect before the cutoff, given as 8 PM or 11 PM in different blogs. One enrolment per Aadhaar. This comes from blogs only.
On the day
Report with your original ID and ticket at the reporting point shown on the ticket. Dress in traditional clothes. Suprabhatam is at about 3 AM and Thomala at about 3:30 to 5 AM, per a blog, so many pilgrims stay in Tirumala the night before.
Booked seva tickets are reported to be non-refundable and non-transferable, but an official statement was not found.

Reports differ on these points, and TTD can change rules at short notice.
- The six-month Aadhaar block after attending a seva is from blogs only.
- The offline dip cutoff is given as 8 PM in some blogs and 11 PM in others.
- Offline enrolment hours differ between blogs (11 AM versus early morning).
- Press reports differ by one to three days on release dates between months.
- Seva prices should be checked on the portal; older lists show about Rs 120 for some sevas.
- Refund and transfer rules were not found officially.
- Whether you can apply for several sevas in one cycle is not confirmed.
Getting there from Tirupati by taxi
Tirumala. Tirumala is about 22 to 26 km from Tirupati station, 1 to 1.5 hours by road. Seva reporting is very early in the morning, so many pilgrims stay in Tirumala the night before. If you travel the same morning, book a cab well ahead for a very early start.
