A 2 day Tirumala Tiruvannamalai package by cab
This Tirumala Tiruvannamalai 2 day package combines two of South India's best known pilgrim stops in one overnight trip. The first day goes to the Tirumala hills above Tirupati; the second day belongs to Tiruvannamalai, where the Arunachaleswarar temple sits at the foot of the sacred Arunachala hill. Go Tirupati Cabs supplies the car or tempo traveller and an experienced driver for both days. Stay and meals are arranged and paid for by the traveller; Go Tirupati Cabs provides only the vehicle and driver for the whole trip.
Tirumala is covered only as a place the cab takes you to: temple entry, tickets and the queue are handled by the pilgrim directly with the temple trust (TTD), and waiting time on the hill varies a lot, so the driver stays flexible on pick-up.
Tirumala: the first stop
Tirumala is about 22 km from Tirupati by the TTD ghat road and takes roughly an hour in a cab, depending on traffic at the check posts. The cab drops you near the temple complex area and waits at the parking arrangement the driver knows. Temple entry, any ticket, and the queue are your own responsibility with the temple trust; we do not arrange or promise any of that. Because the queue time can be a few hours or much longer on weekends and festivals, this itinerary does not fix a departure time from the hill. Tell the driver by phone when you are ready and he will meet you at the agreed place.
Traditional dress is the norm on the hill. Phones and bags may be restricted at the queue complex, so carry only what you need.
Tiruvannamalai and the Arunachaleswarar temple
Tiruvannamalai is one of the five Pancha Bhuta Sthalams, the Shiva temples linked to the five elements, and this one is associated with fire. The Arunachaleswarar temple has tall gateway towers (gopurams) and large courtyards, and the hill behind it is considered the form of Shiva himself. If you search for Arunachaleswarar temple timings you will find slightly different hours on different sites, so ask at the temple office or at your stay when you arrive.
Many visitors also do the Girivalam, a barefoot walk of about 14 km around the hill, usually at night or early morning and especially on full-moon days. It is optional; the driver can wait or take you to the Ramana Maharshi Ashram, which is on the hill's southern side. If you are not walking, a cab from Tirupati to Tiruvannamalai for the temple alone is enough for an easy morning.
Overnight stay and practical tips
Hotels at Tiruvannamalai fill up on full-moon weekends, so book early through your own preferred site or lodge. The driver rests nearby and is available from early morning. Carry a cap or scarf for the midday sun, a small bag for footwear, and water. Start the return drive by about 11 am so that you are back in Tirupati by late afternoon, in good time for onward trains and buses. Confirm every timing on the day, as temple schedules change on festivals.
Timings and dress code
- Timings
- Arunachaleswarar temple is generally open in a morning and an evening session (commonly quoted as about 5:30 am to 12:30 pm and 4 pm to 9:30 pm), but sources differ, so confirm locally. Tirumala hill temple timings and queue rules are published by TTD and change by day; check the TTD site.
- Dress code
- Dress modestly at both places. Traditional wear (saree, salwar with dupatta, dhoti or kurta-pyjama) is the safe choice; Tirumala is widely reported to expect traditional attire and no jeans or shorts, so check the current TTD notice. Footwear is left outside at Tiruvannamalai.
Last checked October 2026. Timings and rules can change, so please confirm locally. We provide taxi service only. Temple entry and any tickets are arranged by the pilgrim directly with the temple.

Roughly 190 km by road, which is about 4 to 4.5 hours by cab. Different mapping sites show slightly different figures depending on the route, so allow a buffer.
What are the Arunachaleswarar temple timings?
Commonly listed as a morning session from about 5:30 am to 12:30 pm and an evening session from about 4 pm to 9:30 pm, but sources disagree, so confirm locally before you plan the day around them.
Is this Tirumala Tiruvannamalai 2 day package possible without staying overnight?
It is not sensible. The drive each way is over four hours, plus time on the hill, so the trip is planned as 2 days with one night at Tiruvannamalai. The stay is booked and paid by you.
What is the dress code for Tirumala and Tiruvannamalai?
Modest, traditional clothing is recommended at both. Tirumala is widely reported to expect traditional attire, so check the current TTD notice. Footwear is removed outside both temples.
Which vehicle suits a family?
A sedan fits up to four adults with luggage. For five to seven people an Innova-type car is comfortable on this long drive, and larger groups can ask for a tempo traveller.
