What VIP Break Darshan is
VIP Break Darshan is an early-morning darshan with a much shorter queue than the general line. Three routes exist: protocol darshan for VIPs, darshan on recommendation letters from elected representatives, and the SRIVANI Trust donor route.
TTD cancels it on peak days, so always check the dates before planning your trip.
Cost
For SRIVANI, travel agency pages report a donation of Rs 10,000 per person to the SRIVANI Trust. The donation is non-refundable. The sources disagree on whether a Rs 500 darshan ticket fee is added on top: one agency adds it, another lists no separate fee.
For protocol and recommendation tickets, the fee is reported at Rs 500 per person with one laddu per ticket. Children under 12 are free with a parent.
Who can avail and what ID is needed
You need a valid government ID that matches the booking, and each ticket covers one person. Carry the donation receipt and ticket as well.
Recommendation letters come only from public representatives. A pilgrim cannot buy one.
How the booking works
SRIVANI booking moved online after a trial from 9 January, and counters were shifted online. The daily split is unconfirmed: a forum post lists roughly 500 advance online, 200 airport, 500 current booking and 300 donors. An older 2023 split was 1,000 a day.
SRIVANI tickets follow the monthly release pattern; for November 2025 they were released on 23 August at 11 AM. One agency guide says current booking opens at 9 AM.
For recommendation letters, guides say they are accepted for next-day darshan and submitted at the JEO camp office before 12 noon. Monday to Thursday are accepted and Friday to Sunday are not. For Telangana representatives, a 2025 change limited it to Monday and Tuesday.
On the day
SRIVANI donors and protocol pilgrims enter through Vaikuntam-I. Recommendation tickets use the ATC car parking area.
Timings reported by gotirupati: Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, protocol is 4:45-6:30 AM and break darshan 6:30-9:30 AM. On Friday protocol is 5:30-7:30 AM and break darshan 7:30-10 AM. Other sources give different slots, such as L1 at 6-7 AM and L3 at 7:30-9:30 AM, so rely on your ticket.
Dress is traditional, and phones are not allowed. The whole visit is typically about 1-2 hours, though this is unverified.

Getting there from Tirupati by taxi
Tirumala (Alipiri toll gate and ghat road). Go through the Alipiri toll gate and up the ghat road to Tirumala, about 22-26 km from Tirupati. Because break darshan starts before dawn, leave Tirupati at night or very early morning so you reach the entry in good time. A taxi can drop you at Tirumala.
Day rent for a Tirupati to Tirumala trip. Diesel, driver charge and toll are charged extra. See the local taxi page for other trips.
