What Suprabhatam Seva is

Suprabhatam is the first ritual of the day at the Sri Venkateswara temple. It is performed in the pre-dawn hours to awaken the deity from rest. Vedic hymns are recited, and Annamacharya compositions are sung nearby.

It is an Arjitha Seva, which means a paid ritual that a pilgrim can witness in person. It is held daily.

Cost and who can book

The price is reported at about Rs 120 per person, and this figure is consistent across third-party sources. A sample 2026 receipt shown by a blog was Rs 240 for two people. The official price list could not be checked, so look at the amount on the TTD site when you register.

Registration needs an Indian mobile number with OTP. Aadhaar is reported as required for seva registration, and NRIs use a passport. Up to 2 people can be registered in one lucky dip entry. One seva booking per person within 6 months is reported.

How the lucky dip works

This seva is allotted by lottery, not first come first served. Demand is far higher than the daily quota, so winning is not certain. No offline counter was found for this seva.

The e-Dip window opens about three months ahead. For example, the December 2026 quota opened on 19 September at 10 AM and closed on 21 September at 10 AM. The January 2027 quota opened on 19 October at 10 AM, with registration until 21 October at 10 AM. Winners pay within about two days, up to noon on 23 September or 23 October in those examples. Announcements appear on TTD News (news.tirumala.org) and in newspapers.

Bookings are reported as final, with no cancellation, refund, transfer or date change unless TTD itself cancels the seva.

On the day: reporting and dress code

Report at VQC-I roughly one hour before the seva. The seva is reported at about 3:00-4:00 AM, while a sample September 2026 receipt shows reporting at VQC-I at 2:00 AM. The printed receipt is the final word, so follow the time on it.

Carry the receipt and the original photo ID of each person. Traditional dress is expected. Men wear a dhoti with an upper cloth. Women wear a saree, half-saree or churidar with a dupatta. Footwear is not allowed, and phones, gadgets and luggage are left outside, according to receipt text quoted by third parties.

The seva may be cancelled or altered during major festivals such as Brahmotsavam. No official statement about darshan after the seva was found.
